You’ll be working in one of Connecticut’s most recognizable and reputable flooring design showrooms. In this exciting environment, you have the chance to be face-to-face with our clients building relationships, working on their flooring design projects and seeing it through to installation.

We expect this individual to excel in inter-personal skills with an understanding of color and design trends, leading to a rewarding career as a Retail Sales and Design Consultant. This position is ideal for those with retail sales experience and preferably have a design background.

Positions are available in our South Windsor and West Hartford stores with initial training in South Windsor.

About the Retail Sales and Design Consultant Position:

The Retail Sales & Design Consultant interacts with our retail clients and assists them in making flooring and window treatment choices according to their individual needs. That interaction occurs in our showroom, in their home or in the community; including floor measurements, design/flooring advice and follow-up post installation. They act as the liaison between the client and our internal staff; ie: scheduling, installation and billing to ensure that project is completed correctly, timely and at our standards.

Requirements of the Retail Sales & Design Consultant:

• Interact with customers in our showroom and off premises Engage clients, building lasting relationships; learning their interested and tastes in order to assist in providing design/floor advice tailored to their individual needs Consistently seek knowledge and training on wide selection of product offerings along with the features, benefits, and warranties associated to be an expert resource for clients Finalize sales orders collect payments, and follow up post installation Perform store functions such as: merchandising, upkeep of store, and price adjustments Reliable transportation to measure/estimate projects Excellent customer service skills, self-starter and well organized Professionalism; including dependability, accountability, and punctuality Willing to work standard retail business hours including nights, weekends and select holidays Flooring retail experience or interior design background is preferred Math, writing and computer skills in MS Office Software, learn our operating systems Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.

• Staining and sealing hardwood floors
• Paint game lines
• Work as a team player
• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs
• Proper use of equipment and materials
• Ensure compliance with all OSHA safety rules and regulations
• Attention to detail, accuracy and completeness
• Work is performed indoors with response to moving mechanical parts, fumes, dust and other airborne particles
• Interact with customers in a friendly & polite manner, must be trustworthy and comfortable in customer’s homes
• Ability to work overtime if needed
• Work in a team setting to achieve satisfactory results

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a drug test
• Must have a driver’s license
